Tuesday 19 January, 2021     

        

At 20:00, the Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) reported 448 new cases in the last 24 hours. They were detected out of 20,694 tests, i.e. a positivity rate of 2.2%. 13 more patients died from the disease in the last 24 hours. 

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Myanmar, in March 2020, 135,243 people have been contaminated by Covid-19, and 2,986 have died from it.

Yesterday evening at 20:00 hrs, the MoHS announced that 477 new Covid-19 cases had been identified. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 134,795 people have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 2,973 people have died from it. At 18:30 Hrs today, the MoHS released the spatial breakdown of those 477 cases:

For the second day in a row, Mandalay Region ranks higher than Yangon Region, with 130 new cases reported, i.e. 16,079 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Aung Myay Tharzan (+22 cases), Maha Aung Myay (+14 cases) and Pathein Gyi (+13 cases). Chan Aye Tharzan, Aung Myay Tharzan and Maha Aung Myay Townships remain the most-affected areas, with more than 2,400 cases each.  


In Yangon Region, 125 new cases were reported, i.e. 86,219 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Pazuntaung (+18 cases), Dagon Myothit (South) (+13 cases) and Tarmwe (+11 cases). North Okkalapa and Mingaladon remain the most-affected townships, with more than 5,800 cases each.

At 20:00, the Ministry of Health and Sports (MoHS) reported 477 new cases in the last 24 hours. They were detected out of 18,835 tests, i.e. a positivity rate of 2.5%. 18 more patients died from the disease in the last 24 hours.  

Since the beginning of the pandemic in Myanmar, in March 2020, 134,795 people have been contaminated by Covid-19, and 2,973 have died from it.

Yesterday evening at 20:00 hrs, the MoHS announced that 449 new Covid-19 cases had been identified. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 134,318 people have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 2,955 people have died from it. At 19:30 Hrs today, the MoHS released the spatial breakdown of those 449 cases:

After a first occurrence on 15 January, Mandalay Region once again ranks higher than Yangon Region, with 122 new cases reported, i.e. 15,949 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Aung Myay Tharzan (+28 cases), Maha Aung Myay (+13 cases) and Chan Aye Tharzan (+12 cases). Chan Aye Tharzan, Aung Myay Tharzan and Maha Aung Myay Townships remain the most-affected areas, with more than 2,400 cases each.  

In Yangon Region, 105 new cases were reported, i.e. 86,094 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Dagon Myothit (East) (+9 cases), South Okkalapa (+8 cases) and Thingangyun (+6 cases). North Okkalapa and Mingaladon remain the most-affected townships, with more than 5,800 cases each.

Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 133,869 people have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 2,942 people have died from it. In Mandalay Region, 105 new cases were reported, i.e. 15,827 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Chan Mya Tharzi (+17 cases), Aung Myay Tharzan (+15), and Chan Aye Tharzan (+10). Chan Aye Tharzan, Aung Myay Tharzan and Maha Aung Myay Townships remain the most-affected areas, with more than 2,300 cases each.

Yesterday evening at 20:00 hrs, the MoHS announced that 513 new Covid-19 cases had been identified. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 133,378 people have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 2,926 people have died from it. At 19:30 Hrs today, the MoHS released the spatial breakdown of those 513 cases:

For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, Mandalay Region reported more cases than Yangon Region, confirming a trend started in late November. 

 

In Yangon Region, 131 new cases were reported, i.e. 85,827 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Insein (+11 cases), Mayangone (+10 cases) and Hlaing Tharyar  (+9 cases). North Okkalapa and Mingaladon remain the most-affected townships, with more than 5,700 cases each.     

 

In Mandalay Region, 162 new cases were reported, i.e. 15,722 cases since March 2020. Yesterday, the main surge took place in Aung Myay Tharzan (+27 cases), Chan Mya Tharzi (+22 cases) and Maha Aung Myay (+21 cases). Chan Aye Tharzan, Aung Myay Tharzan and Maha Aung Myay Townships remain the most-affected areas, with more than 2,300 cases each.

After a short suspension for technical reasons, EXERA team is glad to resume the publication of its Covid-19 flashes. As a reminder, 551 cases were identified on 12 January and 523 on 13 January. Yesterday evening, 14 January, at 20:00 hrs, the MoHS announced that 605 new Covid-19 cases had been identified. Since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, 132,865 people have been tested positive to Covid-19 and 2,912 people have died from it. At 18:00 Hrs today, the MoHS released the spatial breakdown of those 605 cases:
